Asan Saraf · Account deletion
Delete your Asan Saraf account
This page is for users of the Asan Saraf mobile and web apps (developer: Asan Saraf). Asan Saraf is a digital money notebook for balances, expenses, and business records — it does not send or hold real money. Prefer deleting from the app when you can sign in; use email only if you cannot access your account.
Delete from the app (recommended)
Path: Profile → Privacy → Delete Account. This is the primary way to delete your account.
Open Profile
Sign in to the Asan Saraf mobile app, then go to Profile.
Open Privacy
Tap Privacy in your account settings.
Choose Delete Account
Tap Delete account, read the warning, and confirm. You will be signed out immediately.
Cannot sign in? Email us
If you cannot open the app or sign in, email admin@asansaraf.com from the same address you use for Asan Saraf. Include your full name and a clear request to delete the account. Use the subject line: Asan Saraf account deletion request. We may ask you to confirm ownership, and aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
Data that is deleted or anonymized
When you delete your account (in-app or after a verified email request), we deactivate your login and anonymize personal profile data, including:
- Profile details such as display name and phone; your email is retained only so you can restore the same account later if you sign up again
- Password and Google sign-in link (cleared until you restore)
- Sign-in sessions, refresh tokens, and optional authenticator (TOTP) methods for your account
- Push notification device tokens registered for your account
- Your active membership in workspaces (you can no longer sign in or access those workspaces until you restore the account)
Data that is kept
Some information remains when it belongs to a shared workspace or is needed for security or legal reasons:
- Shared workspace notebook data — balances, customers, transactions, hawala-style notes, and attachments in a workspace ledger stay for other members. Those records belong to the workspace, not only to one login. Deleting your user account does not erase workspace ledgers.
- Security and audit logs — limited technical logs (for example IP, user-agent, or action metadata) may be kept for fraud prevention and security for up to 180 days, then deleted or aggregated.
- Legal / accounting retention — if we are required by law to keep certain records (for example subscription payment notes), we retain only what is necessary for that purpose and for no longer than required.
- Backups — deleted personal data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days until those backups cycle out, and is not restored for active use.
Restoring access
If you sign up again with the same email after deletion, Asan Saraf treats that as account restore: after email verification your login and prior workspace memberships can be reactivated. Workspace business records were never removed.
Retention summary
- In-app deletion: immediate deactivation and anonymization of your personal profile
- Email requests we must process manually: target within 30 days after verification
- Security / login-attempt style logs: up to 180 days
- Backup residual copies: up to 90 days
- Shared workspace ledger data: kept while the workspace remains active
